Gender Sensitivity Programme

Unravelling Pride & Prejudice - Gender Sensitivity Program at Edify

At Edify, we believe that schools are not just places of learning—they are the foundation of values, perspectives, and life skills that shape future citizens. In a rapidly changing world, one of the most urgent responsibilities of education is to cultivate equality and inclusivity, ensuring that every learner, irrespective of gender or identity, feels respected, valued, and empowered.

Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality), the Gender Sensitivity Program at Edify recognizes that addressing inequality is not confined to specific groups, but is a universal responsibility. We approach gender sensitivity not as an additional subject, but as a mindset that must be mainstreamed into all aspects of education—be it academics, environmental awareness, or social development.

Unlike conventional approaches in schools that often limit gender discussions to isolated campaigns or events, Edify integrates these values into a structured, ongoing program. This initiative, designed for students of Grades VI to X, encourages them to:

Understand and question systemic discrimination, stereotypes, and prejudices that exist in society.

Recognize how these biases create not just inequality but also injustice.

Develop critical thinking, empathy, and inclusivity through hands-on activities, logical exercises, and collaborative games.

What makes Edify different is its commitment to inclusive education as a lived experience rather than a theoretical concept. Every learner is given the space to voice their opinions, reflect on social issues, and design solutions that promote fairness. By doing so, we move beyond academic knowledge to nurture individuals who are socially aware, environmentally responsible, and respectful of all genders and identities.

Through this program, Edify ensures that its students don’t just become achievers in examinations, but also active contributors to building a just and equitable society. In this way, we prepare them not only for success in their personal lives, but also for meaningful participation in creating a better world for all.
